New York has officially entered into phase-1. Party/Charter boats have been included into Phase-1!

Below are new operating procedures, trip times and procedures during phase-1

  • We will be sailing with a max of 25 individuals or families spaced out 6 feet apart.

  • If you are coming from the same household you may fish next to each other but those NOT from the same home must stay 6 ft apart while fishing.

  • ALL smoking of any kind must be done on the upper deck in the sanctioned smoking sections and must stay 6 feet apart from one another.

  • Masks must be worn while fishing. Mates must be able to safely assist you when needed.

  • Reservations are required for ALL trips. Walk on customers will not be accepted at this time.

  • ALL RESERVATIONS MUST BE PAID IN ADVANCE.THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS. We are limiting the amount of contact by not accepting cash. We will also be temporarily suspending our fish pool as a result to our NO CASH policy.

  • It is customary to give the deckhands a tip for their service. All tips in cash are asked to be put into designated tip jars. While a tip jar is not standard on the Osprey, we feel that it is prudent while trying to limit all contact. Tip Jars will be located in the stern of the vessel and at the gate when disembarking. The mates greatly appreciate everything that they are tipped and thank you in advance for your understanding.

  • It has always been standard recommended operating procedure to arrive at the boat 1 hour prior to sail time. Unfortunately this has not always been fallowed. We ask that everyone is respectful of others time and please arrive NO LATER than 30 min prior to the trip for check in. Check in will now be done on the dock and not in the cabin. Late arrivals will forfeit their ticket and fare. Please plan accordingly.

  • Available fishing spots: We will have designated fishing spots on all trips that are 6 feet away from each other. FAMILIES MAY FISH NEXT TO EACH OTHER. There will be a ZERO tolerance policy when it comes to arguing over fishing spots. The Captains always do their best to maximize fish that come up all around the boat. No spot is considered better than another. Arguing over a spot on the boat will not be tolerated. If an argument arises both parties will be asked to leave and no refund will be given. 1 rod up per person is still in effect. All extra rods must be put in over head storage. Keep in mind FISHING IS FUN! This is a fun experience for you and your family!

  • Boarding procedure: Please do not embark the vessel until the crew has properly checked you in on the dock. Please line up on the Main dock spacing 6 feet apart in a clear line.

  • All rods and boat will be properly sanitized before given to the next fisherman.

  • During the Coronavirus Disease 19 (COVID-19) pandemic, keeping hands clean is especially important to help prevent the virus from spreading. Hand washing is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your family from getting sick. Sinks will have running water and soap for proper hand washing. Hand sanitizer with 60% alcohol will be available if water is not. Please try to not touch your face or eyes.

  • Gloves are not a necessary form of protection unless changed frequently. Gloves used improperly can spread contamination farther than clean bare hands. If you will be wearing gloves please use good judgment and change them often.

Please do not sign up for a fishing trip if : you feel healthy but

Recently had close contact with a person with COVID-19, If you Have been diagnosed with COVID-19, Are waiting for test results, or Have cough, fever, or shortness of breath, or other symptoms of COVID-19.

How our Captain’s Choice trips work:

*What fish will be targeted will be decided based on tides and weather conditions that day to maximize catch for the day.

*Depending on what the captain decides, multiple species of fish might be targeted within the same trip, other times it might be only one type, but the goal is to get the most action possible!

*All bait, tackle and rods are included in your fare. Our crew is happy to assist with baiting and tying up your rigs! Feel free to bring along food and drinks, and make sure to bring a small cooler to take your fillets home with you!

Things not included:

*Tip for the crew for their services. A customary tip is 20% of the fare. The crew will be there with you in every step of the way! They rig your rods, bait your hooks, fillet your catch and even give you tips on how to cook it!  Our crew works incredibly long and provides some of the highest quality service in our entire industry.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated by our crew!

*Hooks and sinkers are included, but buck tails, teasers are not, so if you would like to use them, please bring your tackle box fully stocked. Popular colors for fluke are pink, white, yellow and blue.

*Food and drinks: Although some snacks may be available for purchase, we would advise you to pack a cooler with food and drinks and plenty of ice the night before your trip. That way when you wake up to go fishing, everything is packed and ready to go! The ice in your cooler is also a great way to keep you fillets fresh for the ride home.

*Don't forget to bring your fishing rag!  A fishing rag is a fisherman's best friend. It keeps your hands clean so that rod won't slip out of your hand. If you forget your rag, ask the crew for a bucket of water to wash your hands. They will be more than happy to get you a hand rinsing pail.
